random acts of kindness


~ Ask an older person to tell you a story about his or her youth.

~ Buy a phone card and give to a homeless shelter for them to give to someone.

~ Call an old friend.

~ Clean up your neighbor’s yard/garden for free.

~ Give a compliment about your waiter / waitress to his / her manager.

~ Give a huge tip to someone when they least expect it.

~ Give another driver your parking spot.

~ Give up your seat for someone, not just an elderly person.

~ Hold the train door open for someone rushing to get in.

~ Hug someone.

~ Let someone merge ahead of you, smile and wave at that person.

~ Order a mail order gift anonymously for a friend or co-worker.

~ Praise the work or attitude of a co-worker to someone else in the workplace.

~ Plant a tree.

~ Put a comment on someone’s webpage that you really like…… let them know you enjoy it

~ Put something you no longer need on Craig’s list free spot for your area

~ Read to a child.

~ Say, “I love you” to people for whom it’s true.

~ Send a card to someone in the military overseas

~ Send a thank you letter to a teacher you once had, letting him or her know the difference the teacher made in your life.

~ Smile! Laugh! Be happy.

~ Start a conversation up with a co-worker that you don’t know

~ The next toll booth you come to, pay for a car behind you.

~ Visit hospitals with smiles, treats and friendly conversation for patients.

~ Volunteer at a local shelter.

~ Write a note to the boss of someone who has helped you, thanking the boss for having such a great employee.

~ Write a note to the owner of a house or garden in your neighborhood whose beauty gives you pleasure.
