tools for growth


God uses three primary catalysts for changing us and conforming us to Christlikeness.

The first is PEOPLE. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Sometimes God uses our friends to sharpen us into more Christlike living.

The second is CIRCUMSTANCES. Romans 8:28 says, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” God uses everything in our lives to stimulate us toward holiness.

The third is SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES. First Timothy 4:7 says, “Train yourself to be godly.” When he uses the disciplines, God works from the inside out. When he changes us through people and circumstances, the process works from the outside in.
